Spring Koshien, the national invitational high school baseball tournament, was canceled on Monday amid the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak.
It was the first cancellation in the history of the tournament, which was scheduled to begin on March 19 at Koshien Stadium in Nishinomiya, Hyogo Prefecture.
